The Barcelona to Andorra bus is run by two scheduled operators, Andbus and Andorra Direct Bus, which both pick up at El Prat airport and end at Andorra la Vella bus station, in about three to three and a half hours. For a group of eight or more, or with skis and suitcases, a private coach or minibus with driver often works out better. We compare both options and explain how to ask for quotes.

By Editorial team · Updated October 2026 · How we rank

If you are searching for a Barcelona to Andorra bus, you really have two choices: buy a seat on a scheduled line, or hire a coach or minibus with driver for your own group. This guide separates the two. The timetable and fare details below come from the operators' own websites, which we opened in October 2026. We do not quote private hire prices, because they depend on date, kilometres and hours, and each company sets its own.

Bus from Barcelona to Andorra

Two operators run scheduled buses between Barcelona airport and Andorra la Vella: Andbus and Andorra Direct Bus. Both sell individual seats, so you share the vehicle with other passengers and follow a fixed timetable.

This is what each one publishes on its own website:

Andbus Andorra Direct Bus
Barcelona pick-up Airport T1, airport T2, Av. Diagonal (stop 3174) Airport T1 and T2, Sants station
Arrival Andorra bus station (Estació Nacional d'Autobusos) Andorra la Vella bus station
Frequency 10 departures a day, 00:45 to 22:45 from T1 16 buses a day, 06:15 to 23:45
Journey time About 3 h 15 min (from the timetable) 3 h to 3 h 45 min
Published fare 33 euros single, 56 euros return From 31.50 euros

Sources: the Andbus timetable and rates page and the Andorra Direct Bus page for the Barcelona airport route. Andbus says its fares are valid only for purchases on its website, and that its times depend on road traffic. Direct Bus gives slightly different starting prices and durations in different parts of its page, so we show the range it publishes and suggest you check the checkout price.

How to get from Barcelona to Andorra

The simplest route is to go to the airport or to Sants, buy a ticket online and board the bus that leaves at your time. Out of high season you rarely need to book weeks ahead, but on ski weekends and bank holiday bridges seats can sell out, so we would book early.

A practical order of work:

  1. Fix the time you must be in Andorra and count roughly three and a half hours on the road, plus a margin for traffic.
  2. Pick your departure point. If you land at El Prat, boarding at the airport saves a trip into town. If you sleep in the city, Sants (Direct Bus) or Av. Diagonal (Andbus) is closer.
  3. Buy on the operator's official site and keep the ticket on your phone.
  4. Be at the stop ten to fifteen minutes early and look for the operator's name on the sign.
  5. For the return, check the Andorra departure times separately. Each operator publishes different times in each direction.

If you arrive in Barcelona by coach from somewhere else and need to connect, our guide to Barcelona's Estació del Nord and other bus stations explains where each station is and what services it has.

Barcelona airport to Andorra: which stop and which terminal?

Both operators pick up at Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 of El Prat (BCN). That is the easiest option if you fly in and head straight for the slopes, the shops or a meeting.

Two details help:

  • The terminals have different stops. Andbus says its T1 bus leaves from the ground floor between platforms 7 and 12, and its T2 bus from outside arrivals T2B, on the right-hand side by the "Bloc Tecnic" building.
  • If your flight is late, a scheduled ticket may not be exchangeable for a later bus. Ask about the change policy when you buy.

Is a private coach to Andorra worth it?

A private coach or minibus pays off from about eight passengers, when you start from your own address, or when the scheduled times do not suit your plan. For small parties, adding up individual tickets is nearly always cheaper than any hire.

On a scheduled line you pay per seat. With a private service you pay for the vehicle, the hours and the distance, and the cost is shared among everyone aboard, so the bigger the group, the closer the price per head gets to a ticket. These are the cases we see most often:

  • Ski trips for a club, school or company, with skis, boots and luggage for many people.
  • Day trips with a stop at the shopping centres or the slopes and a return the same evening.
  • Birthdays and stag or hen parties that want a single pick-up point and no timetable.
  • Company outings and congresses with several stops in Andorra.

For each case we have a page of companies: minibus hire in Barcelona, corporate and event transport and private drivers and chauffeurs. For smaller parties who want a car with driver rather than a bus, the limo hire page and the private driver page are the places to start.

What size of vehicle does your group need?

The number of people plus their luggage sets the vehicle size. Count the seats you need and leave the back rows free for suitcases and ski bags.

Passengers Usual vehicle Note
1 to 4 Scheduled line, or a car with driver Scheduled tickets are usually cheapest
5 to 8 Van or car with driver Ask about boot space for bags
9 to 19 Minibus Little room for bulky luggage
20 to 35 Large minibus or midi coach A good middle ground
36 to 60 Full-size coach Large hold for luggage

Exact seat counts differ between companies and vehicles. Some companies in our directory say on their websites that they run coaches of 55, 60 or more seats and minibuses of 19 to 35. If the number matters, ask for it in writing in the quote.

Which coach companies could you ask about Andorra?

These are the best-reviewed companies in our Barcelona list that offer coaches and minibuses. We have not checked which of them drive to Andorra, so always ask about this route in your quote request.

What should you ask before booking a coach to Andorra?

Before you accept a quote for Andorra, get in writing what it includes, how many driving hours it assumes and who pays for tolls and parking. A low headline price often hides extras that appear later.

Our checklist:

  • Is it a same-day return, or does the driver stay overnight in Andorra?
  • How many waiting hours are planned, and what does each extra hour cost?
  • Tolls, parking, the driver's meals and a second driver on long days.
  • Seat belts, air conditioning, heating and room for snow gear.
  • The company's licence for the discretionary transport of passengers, and its insurance.
  • Whether the company knows the road and the border crossing on your dates.
  • What documents each passenger needs to cross the border.

On driving time, the European Commission's page on driving time and rest periods states a daily driving limit of nine hours (which can rise to ten hours twice a week) and a break of at least 45 minutes after four and a half hours of driving. A simple out-and-back day trip often fits one driver's day, but many stops or a late return may need a second driver.

What affects the price of a coach to Andorra?

The price of a private coach to Andorra depends on vehicle size, total hours, distance and the season. We do not publish figures because there is no official tariff we can cite; each company works out its own.

The main drivers:

  • Seats. A 19-seat minibus costs less than a 55-seat coach, but per person it can cost more if the group fills the larger vehicle.
  • Date. Ski weekends, bank holidays, Christmas and summer cost more than a quiet Tuesday in February.
  • Driver hours. A 6 am start with an 11 pm return counts as a long working day.
  • Waiting time. If the coach waits all day while the group skis, those hours are billed.
  • Tolls and parking. Many quotes list them separately.
  • Overnight stay. If the driver sleeps in Andorra, the accommodation is added.

For a fuller breakdown of what goes into a quote, see our guide to coach hire prices.

How do you request a coach quote for Andorra?

Fill in the quote form with your date, group size, pick-up and drop-off points and the hours you expect to spend in Andorra. It goes to up to three companies, who reply with a fixed offer.

The more you tell them, the easier the offers are to compare. Say whether you carry ski gear, whether you return the same day and whether anyone needs an accessible vehicle. Then compare what each quote includes, not only the final figure.

Timetables and fares on this page change often. We checked them in October 2026 on the Andbus and Andorra Direct Bus websites and will review them each season.

Frequently asked questions

How long is the bus from Barcelona to Andorra?
About three hours and a quarter on Andbus's timetable (a bus leaving airport T1 at 06:45 is due in Andorra at 10:00), and three to three hours forty-five on Andorra Direct Bus's own pages. Snow weekends and holiday traffic can add time, so do not book a flight home with no margin.
How much is the bus from Barcelona to Andorra?
Andbus publishes 33 euros one way and 56 euros return from the airport, valid for web purchases. Andorra Direct Bus advertises fares from 31.50 euros, though its pages are not consistent about the starting price. Check the operator's site on the day you book, as fares change.
Is there a bus from Barcelona airport to Andorra?
Yes. Andbus leaves from T1 (ground floor, platforms 7 to 12) and T2 (outside arrivals T2B), and Andorra Direct Bus also serves both terminals. Both finish at Andorra la Vella bus station, according to their own websites.
Is there a night bus from Barcelona to Andorra?
Andbus's timetable shows a departure from airport T1 at 00:45, arriving in Andorra at 04:00, and a bus leaving Andorra at 02:00. Direct Bus advertises its last bus at 23:45. Timetables change, so confirm the exact date with the operator before you travel.
When is a private coach to Andorra worth it?
Usually from about eight passengers, when you want a pick-up at your own hotel, school or office, or when you need times the scheduled lines do not offer, such as a ski day trip. For one to four travellers, scheduled tickets are almost always cheaper.
